Introduction to KOMIR
MIRECO(established in 2006) which has been contributing to the promotion of the local economy through mine rehabilitation and the development of local communities, and KORES (established in 1967), which has been contributing to the stable supply of mineral resources through the development of domestic and overseas mining and supporting for the mineral resource industry, are combined(KOMIR, established in 2021) to support systematic mine rehabilitation and mining development.

Major Tasks and Roles
- Mine hazards prevention projects including Investigation, research, technology development and mine reclamation for the prevention of damage from mining.
- Coal and Briquette industry supporting project to help stabilize prices and establish a distribution system for coal and briquette
- Regional promotion projects to promote the economy in closed mine areas and improve the quality of life
- International cooperation project for the overseas expansion of the mine damage prevention business and National qualification projects to train technical professionals in mining and mine reclamation fields.
- Technological and financial support for the private sector to secure mineral resources
- Technology development and distribution to enhance added value for mineral resources
- Mineral resources stock-up project to strengthen national resource security
- Support for the private sector to secure mineral resources and overseas capital management
